Topic 1
The difference between a media sector and a product is that a media sector is in the media industry with 5 sectors: moving image, audio, publishing, websites and gaming. A product is the media that is produced so it doesn't need any sectors. The difference between a media sector and a platform is that a platform is where you are able to access all of the media that is being produced for example Netflix. A media sector is different to this as it's in the media industry. The difference between a media sector and a device is that the device is the thing we use to actually view the media that is produced. A media sector is different to this because it's in the media industry and a device isn't in the media industry.

The access to digital media technology has changed the way in which the audience consumes media because digital media technology is very effective. Digital media technology is very effective as it's very easy to be able to access information. This is good for the audience as they will be able to access their information  quicker than usual. Another way digital media technology has changed the way in which the audience consumes media is because you can get better communication with you friends family on in general any one who you actually communicate with. This is very good for the audience as they will now consume media more often as the communication has improved. The final reason why access to digital media technology changed the way in which the audience consumes media because digital media can be found in gaming, social media and animations.

Topic 2
The difference between analogue and digital is that analogue are devices that record devices from one point to another such as tape records by scanning physical data that has been seen. Digital are devices which perform calculations using ones and zeros as it's in the binary system that is recorded in the code of manner in many different combinations. Analogue devices rely on an electronic signal that varies in frequency and/or intensity in order to encode/decode information. Digital devices rely on digital signals that can be thought of as a whole lot of on/off switches in order to convey information. Some examples of a digital device are a telephone and a camera. Some examples of a analogue device are a clock and tape recorder.

Topic 3
The difference between synergy and technological convergence is that synergy is when different media categories work together to then make your products better for example moving images work with websites and publishing and games all to make Harry Potter's products much better. Technology convergence is when the technology changes, different technological systems that evolve towards performing similar tasks. It includes cultural, society, buisness, service, technology, regulatory.

An example of synergy would be how Harry potter is a moving image, game, website and has been published as a book(the whole series). This basically means that harry potter can fit into all of the media sectors. This is god as it can then really help to expand its target market as there products are being brought from many different people. This is the reason why Harry Potter has such high levels of overlap.

An advantage of a technological convergence is that you are able to get things immediately, this is often known as Immediacy. Immediacy is very effective as you can get on anything straight away. Another advantage is connectivity, this basically means tat you can be connected with many different people in the world, which is very good if you need to connect with other people who are not in the country that you are in.

A disadvantage of a technological convergence is Connectivity, because although you can connect with anybody in the world, it can be very annoying as you are constantly connected throughout the day even at night time when you are trying to sleep. Another disadvantage of this convergence is that it is too convenient which means that you have to have all of the time for it and most people don't have all of the time for it.

Topic 4

This poster can have an intended effect on the audience because of the connotations on the poster, when teenagers look at this poster they can become excited and curious because it looks very suspicious because of how gloomy and dark it is inside of the poster which then helps to create suspense inside of the poster. In terms of the denotations, it could be that people inside of the poster  turn into zombies because of how the cars look damaged and how the place looks as well. In terms of mine-en-scene, there are hardly any costumes, but the blue background and white clouds shows that it's around nighttime and the buildings are covered with fog with could meaning that they will be destroyed in the film. Some of the written codes in this poster is that there is a high angle.

Here is a low angle shot inside of the film where Thor and Loki are looking up in a spaceship. This low angle makes this scene very interesting.

In this scene, there is a spaceship shown and this spaceship is inside Ragnarok where Thor and Loki both are looking up to.

In this part of the opening of the film we see Loki and an over the shoulder shot as he is at the graduation of being welcomed to become one of Thano's children.    set within the glamorous and dangerous world of hip-hop music. The stereotypes in this show is that there is sexuality and some religion as well.

An example of a stereotypical image where it has caused harm is the impact these stereotypes have on other people meaning it can have a negative impact on someones character. When a stereotypical image hasn't caused harm is when a stereotype has had a good impact on someones character. The difference between both of them is that one is positive and the other one is negative.

I do think it is necessary for the filmmaker to of lived the experience as it makes it easier for the artist to be able to create the film and he/she to represent their experience of the film. He or she could of lived the experience would of then had an impact on representation in many different ways.

Topic 7

The five stages of production are
Pre-production
Production
Post-Production
Distribution
Exhibition

The type of production that is adding sound to a documentary is called Post-production as they are editing the documentary.

The type of production that is viewing a film in the cinema is called distribution as the audience are watching the film.

The type of production that is storyboarding a music video is called preproduction as you are drawing all of the people you want in your music video. For a shooting footage for a film that is called production for the film as you are producing it

Topic 8
The Hypodermic Needle Model is one of the first media theories used a way to help the audience understand how the way media is consumed and how the audience consumes the media that they watch and know about. The hypodermic Needle Model also connotes that the audience who consume the media also receive information through media text and that they don't at all process the information. When it comes to the Gratification theory it is quite different because they have uses and the Hypodermic doesn't have any uses. The Gratification theory indicates that the audience can be very active people on media and that they have four main reasons why they choose to consume media for any given product. The reasons are need for identity, need for education/information, need for social interaction, need for entertainment.

The difference between a primary audience and a secondary audience is that a primary audience is a audience that receives the communication directly.  An example of this will be if your writing a email to someone and if says To:. Secondary audience is a audience that includes anyone who may indirectly receive a copy a copy of the communication. These include anyone who will then receive a copy, or need to approve, will hear about or be affected by your message. An example of this is a carbon copy.

Individual consumption is when the  users engage with a digital media product in their own for solo engagement for example listening to music. However, group consumption is different because its when users engage with a digital media product with other people for collective enjoyment for example playing games with each other.

Topic 10
The five regulatory bodies are
1. BBFC- British Board Film Classification, this identifies the content and gives good film rating
2. PEGI- Pan European Game Information, this tests the game and gives the game an age rating
3. IPSO - Independent Press Standard Organisation, this is used for newspapers and magazines and also deals with complaints and maintain industry standards
4. ASA - Advertising Standard Authority this as well deals with complaints but checks for harmful or misleading or offensive adverts
5. OFCOM - Government approved regulator for broadcasting, telecommunication and postal services. Deals with complaints about TV, Radio, Internet and Phone etc

S   Some of the advantages of having regulatory bodies in the media industry is that it can help identify the content. This is used in BBFC. BBFC means the british board Film Classification and inside this regulatory body it has a age rating for the films and helps identify the content that is being shown. This then shows if the film is appreciate for people to view as they follow and set principles for people to follow. BBFC also achieves and some objectives including a high quality service to many customers. This can then be very good for the media industry as it helps review the media before putting it towards the public.

Another advantage of having regulatory bodies is Pan European Game Information, this is good because it tests the game which is good in case the game needs to have some improvements in order to make the game better for everyone to play. PEGI does the same exact thing as the BBFC just for games. An additional advantage of regulatory bodies in the media industry is that they help keep control of all the things around them that can damage them or harm them. This is good for the media industry as they are able to protect everything inside the media industry.

However, there are some disadvantages of having regulatory bodies in the media industry is that it cannot commit illegal actions as some people sneak in a 18 rated film when it is a 15 rated film. This is peer pressure and also cause people to have a cot due to the crime such as a fine.  This is then bad for the media industry as if illegal people are selling products that are illegal then the outcome will be very bad.
